There is a big difference between hearing the words that someone is speaking, and listening to the message they are attempting to convey. Listening to the message takes what we are going to call a “hearing heart”; that desire to truly understand vs. the idea of just waiting to respond. That’s what this episode is about - truly listening to God, and not just waiting for him to listen to you.
